About me
Hi, I'm Frank Closset!
For more than 25 years, I've led engineering and product teams building software used by some of the world's largest organisations, from concept to customers, across every timezone.
A team leader who values integrity and transparency above all. If I had to describe myself in a few words: product hacker, CX advocate, UX wannabe, and life enjoyer.
I'm dedicated, dependable, and always thinking customer first. An effective communicator with deep technical and business acumen, consistently recognised for driving cross-functional teams to execute with excellence.
What keeps me busy?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family, playing padel, traveling the world, skiing, and catching up with friends. I love exploring new technologies because I believe having hands-on experience with what's deemed cool is absolutely crucial.
Where it all started
I studied at one of the finest universities in Belgium, KU Leuven. One of Belgium's finest universities and one of Europe's leading research institutions. A vibrant, inspiring city that shapes how you think as much as what you study.
I hold two Master degrees: one in Applied Economics with a focus on international economy and strategy, and one in Business and Information System Engineering.
Career
I started my career in 1999 at Trisoft. During that time I worked all around the world with global organisations, integrating Trisoft's Component Content Management solution into their tool chains and processes.
I'm Head of Engineering at RWS, leading 150+ engineers across Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, UK, and Ukraine, responsible for the full product development lifecycle of our Content Technologies division.
I've worked with some of the largest organisations in the world.

Took on ownership of the TimeArc product with a team in Ireland coming into RWS through an acquisition.

Leading 150+ professionals across 4 locations. Full ownership of the product strategy.

Led business & product strategy for a market-leading enterprise Content Management product. Thought-leader and speaker at conferences worldwide.
SDL · SCT Division
Led US expansion and M&A strategy. Worked closely with Fortune 500 companies including HP, Wells Fargo, Tesla, Dell and Salesforce.
Trisoft
Defined vision and go-to-market strategy. Grew US operations to 80% of total revenue. Played a pivotal role in the acquisition of the company by SDL.

Defined and built the first version of a Structured Content Management solution that grew to capture 40–50% market share. Negotiated the IP buyout to commercialise the product.
